About Golden Leaf Advisory

Independent financial research you can trust.

Our Mission

Golden Leaf Advisory exists for one reason: to help people make better financial decisions. We believe everyone deserves access to clear, honest information about the financial products they use every day, from brokerage accounts and credit cards to savings accounts and insurance.

Too much financial content online is written to sell rather than to inform. We took a different approach. Our research team evaluates products the way a thoughtful friend with financial expertise would: by looking at fees, features, fine print, and real-world usability, then telling you what we actually think.

How We Make Money

Transparency matters to us. Here's how our business works:

We earn revenue through affiliate partnerships with some of the companies whose products we review. When you click a link on our site and open an account or apply for a card, the company may pay us a referral fee. This is how we keep the site free for readers.

What this does not mean: Our rankings and ratings are never for sale. Companies cannot pay for a higher rating or placement. Our editorial team operates independently from our business team. We regularly recommend products from companies we have no financial relationship with, and we regularly omit products from companies that do pay us when those products don't meet our standards.

Our Research Methodology

Every product review follows a structured evaluation process:

  • Hands-on testing. We open real accounts, use the platforms, contact customer support, and test mobile apps. We don't review products from a press release.
  • Standardized scoring. Each product category has a defined scoring rubric with weighted factors. For example, brokerage reviews weight commissions at 25%, platform quality at 20%, research tools at 20%, and so on.
  • Regular updates. Financial products change frequently. We re-evaluate rates, fees, and features monthly, and update our pages to reflect current information.
  • Multiple reviewers. No single person assigns a final rating. Our scores reflect input from at least two members of our research team.
  • Fact-checking. All fees, rates, minimums, and bonus offers are verified against official product pages before publication and rechecked during monthly updates.

What We Cover

Our current coverage includes:

  • Investment platforms — Online brokerages, robo-advisors, and trading platforms
  • Credit cards — Cashback, travel rewards, balance transfer, and business cards
  • Savings accounts — High-yield savings, money market accounts, and CDs
  • Personal finance guides — Educational content about investing, credit, savings strategies, and more

We're expanding our coverage in 2026 to include insurance products, personal loans, and mortgage comparisons.

Editorial Standards

Our editorial team follows these principles:

  • Reader first. Every piece of content we publish should genuinely help the reader make a better decision. If it doesn't, we don't publish it.
  • Accuracy over speed. We'd rather be right than first. When rates or features change, we verify before updating.
  • Plain language. Financial products are complicated enough. We write in clear, jargon-free language that anyone can understand.
  • Show the math. When we make a recommendation, we show you the numbers behind it. You should be able to verify our reasoning.
  • Disclose conflicts. Every comparison page includes an editorial disclosure about our affiliate relationships.
